GOYA Invitational Tournaments
Kids need an experience! Isn't that what Tournaments are for, a great experience for both the kids and the parents. Our Goal with GIT is to put on Invitation only very small tournaments. We want to have no more than 16 teams and no more than 2 divisions per tournament.
Why? To create an experience for the players and the parents.
What is different? A lot! First, we work hard to make sure every team in the divisions are as equal as possible, our goal is to have the most competitive environment possible for all teams. We have all games on 1.5 hour blocks so we don't fall behind and most times are running 15 minutes ahead (that is as far as we will work ahead).
Here are a few other differences:
* No game should ever end in a tie!! Don't you agree? Round robin play and playoffs will all have overtime (3 on 3) and even a shoot-out if they are still tied at the end of OT. Let's Go!
*Mercies, What? Our goal is to always have the most competitive games possible but sometimes teams have bad games or one team is just feeling it. We will have an 8 goal differential for running time in the 3rd period, but as long as the teams, coaches and players keep working hard, we are finishing the game. Also, if a game ever comes back to be less than an 8 goal differential in the 3rd period, we will go back to stop time. You pay to much money, you deserve to play!
*Awards - We have "Player of the Game" awards every game for a player on each team (Excluding Semi's and Finals), and awards for the Champions and Finalists!
*SKILLS COMPETITION - You read that right! We have partnered with FUEL Hockey to host and run a Skill Competition at most events. The kids absolutely love it and to be honest, we think the parents like it more! The Skills Competition cost is included in the registration fee, so if you think you got the skill, the speed, the accuracy, the dangles - well you get the point - then we want to see it! (Check each individual Tournament to see if the Skills Competition will be offered for your event!)
We are always trying to improve and give more back to the kids and amazing families that commit so much of their time to this awesome sport! So look for us to add more things to this already great list of things that separate us from the competition. Oh ya, and no games EVER before 8AM!! Everyone likes their sleep.
