2 HSFS Fall League Champions Crowned

The 2021 HSFS High School Fall Hockey League just finished it's 3rd year with 24 Teams playing 76 Regular Season games and 32 Championship Weekend Playoff games!

This past weekened 16 High School teams broken up into 2 Divisions (Division 1 & Division 2) confirged on Big Boy Arena for Championship Weekend playing a total of 32 games over 2 days.  The games were exciting, fast paced with even some incredible overtime games.  It was great time watching all the teams play with such intensity, it truly felt like Varsity season playoffs.  At the end of the weekend their were 2 Champions crowned.

In the Division 2 final Grosse Ile took on Dakota and in a hard fought game Dakota took the Championship with a 5 to 2 victory.  This was a physical game from the very beginning and you could honestly tell both teams wanted to win.  I just hope these two amazing teams get to face off in the varstiy regular season, it could turn out to be a great rivalry.

The Division 1 final was an OAA (Oakland Athletics Association) match up with Griffins taking on their rival Lake Orion.  You could honestly tell these teams were rivals from the drop of the puck.  Both teams played extremely hard all game but in the end Lake Orion was able to pull it out 4 to 1.

The HSFS Staff would like to thank all 24 teams, their staffs, team managers, their parents, Big Boy Arena and it's entire staff, our referees and scorekeepers and everyone else that helped make this a successful year 3.  We will be back next year bigger and better.  Our goal is grow High School hockey every year.

Thank you everyone!
